My cousin's boss is apparently friends with Gov. Kemp, and he has told all his employees to expect Gov. Kemp to announce a state of Quarantine either for the state of GA or ATL tonight. My mother just called me and gave me the news a couple hours ago.

I don't expect yall to believe me cus I know there's been so much misinformation all on the internet that its driving everyone a little nuts... but incase you were contemplating going to the grocery store today I would go ahead and go just to be safe

My wife's nurse friend saw a text from someone who "knows Kemp" that said the same thing. Might be true, might be BS. Same nurse friend has predicted this will happen daily for a week, so there's that.

It would make zero sense for Gov. Kemp to announce a "state of quarantine" for Atlanta. There would have been a conversation with Mayor Lance-Bottoms about Atlanta and she would have made either a joint statement in her teleconference with City Hall this morning. The Mayor is waiting to see what the Governor does, and he speaks for the entire state, not just Atlanta. There's no reason for him to try quarantining just Atlanta and not including the Mayor - she'd be the one charged with enforcement.

The amount of misinformation out there is incredible and it's easy to spot if you know how state and local governments work together. Unfortunately, most people don't know this.

It's quite possible that the Governor announces a shut down or services and recommends we shelter in place. I think that's pretty likely, but it doesn't mean "state of quarantine" or anything like that. That's too risky for his decision-making style IMO.
