One of the opinions that has changed for me in the past 5 years is the quality and reliability of budget optics (not the really cheap Chinese stuff). I have a SIG Romeo 5X that I run on my Scorpion, and I have seen them run pretty aggressively in M4s ( real select fire M4s) with great reliability. I believe the SIG has Holosun guts.
I haven’t seen any results of any service on heavier recoiling guns, like 308 or 12 ga. That might be a factor in service reliability, I don’t know?

I have shit luck with all entry level optics EXCEPT for Holosun. I have broken everything else, but the Holosuns hold zero, have great features, and havent broken on me yet.
Edit - I have some PA stuff that I haven't killed yet too. Good value focused product.

I definitely put a hurting on some Vortex optics. They know me in the warranty department lol
Replacement strike fire came in yesterday
I had an older Sparc that would randomly turn on and off, drain batteries real fast, etc. It kinda soured me on Vortex products.
That being said, I have a Vortex Venom sitting on my parts shelf and I am trying to figure out what I want to do with it.
