Good financial decision... When it's a good time, I recommend getting the process rolling. It takes a long time for the first one, but it's much easier after that.
And regarding the multi-caliber can, there are plenty that will do it with thread adapters, but a jack-of-all-trades is a master of none. My first two were a Guardian 9 (cheap 9mm can from a company that's no longer in business) and a Thompson Machine .22 can. The .22 can sees the most use of any of them... by far.
