I had the clip...it sits nicely right on top of the first knuckle of your firing hand, and is made of thin spring steel.

Better sights
Fewer small parts in the recoil spring assembly
Easier to disassemble slide small parts (firing pin, extractor)
I can post pics of MINE for comparison...not as good, but I have a sentimental attachment to THIS one.
