I wouldn’t sweat that so much. The different generations were just a widening of the feedramp. I’d be more concerned if he did any trigger work how he removed the welded trigger pack screw, and when he disassembled the clamshell frame did he strip any heads, did he clean threads and loctite, then most importantly did he reinstall to proper torque spec.
those are the failures I have seen on DIY scorpion Evo HBI upgrades
If he put the barrel into the trunnion I’d be super skeptical but I bet he bought the gen 2 barrel already set into trunnion like HBI offers. It’s a no brainer to go that route

Both Scorpions I owned didn't have welded trigger packs. I thought welded ones were non-US.
Nah some or all gen 1s had them. Figured it could be a possibility since he felt the need to install a gen 2 barrel?
