What's wrong with the lower? @KERTWOOD is the resident FAL expert...
Not sure. Seems like a couple things...I think hinge pin is slightly small, lower hinge pin holes are slightly large, and possibly the latch plunger needs to be replaced with an oversized unit. I was worried the upper receiver was out of spec but swapping para lowers resulted in a very tight lockup on one and a slightly loose on the original suspect lower...so it's something in therr

Well I've got a problem. The shorty fal I traded for has a defective lower. Guy is happy to trade back, but I wanted this short gas system. The lower might be a simple fix, but it might not be.

Whats going on with it? Edit just saw your response. Maybe work a partial refund and find another lower?

Did you post a pic of it? I may have missed it (this thread moves so fast I can't keep up)

A partial wouldnt be worth the trouble for either of us. I could try and deal with DSA but not sure how much ass pain it will be

mann was looking back over all of my odt listings and after almost 6 years and a couple hundred trades the only ones i REALLY remember were the first two that got it all started. a 1954 russian izzy non refurb sks was my first that i picked up at franklins somehow for a steal (they didnt know what they had and i didnt know what i bought) and that i ended up trading for an SGL21 that i sold a year later to pay for vet bills. What i would give to have both of those rifles back.

Note to self: don't sell anything, like, EVER!

Oh wait, I've kinda been doing that all along...

wish i knew it at the time but was just getting into trading. i miss the sks more than the sgl strange enough. i also cant ever REALLY regret selling the sgl as the vet bills paid for a few more years with one of my best friends and i'd have paid it 10x over

Saw that earlier, had a good laugh at that one. I've seen several guys on the mp5 page getting those for $2500 new. Have a feeling this guy will be sitting on this one for a while.

DSA is notorious for their out of spec upper receiver lug/lower frame lock shitty interface. Order one of these and that will solve the upper/lower slop.

Let go my beloved Daniel Defense to save our Dog. I’d do it again. I’d like that rifle back but can’t spend that much anymore.
