Oh...you were serious

FALs were originally designed using metric measurements. The Brits decided they could stomach that so the designed the excellent L1A1, but they drew them in inch measurements. The difference is enough that not everything interchanges. Inch mags have a slightly different lock up that metric mags.

Supposedly the inch pattern guns balance a bit better than metric, but I've never handled an inch gun. I cant imagine it's a huge difference.
According to Mark Graham (Gun Plumber over on the AK/FN files and owner of Arizone Response Systems) the metric FN's have no metric measurements.

"There are no metric dimensions on a FAL - all are inch/Imperial. Some have metric equivalents, but this whole inch pattern and metric pattern creates a mass confusion.

They should be "Commonwealth" (Aus, New Guinea, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Malaysia, etc.) and "European" (everyone else). With The Indian FAL being an unauthorized clone that doesn't match either.

The only metric dimension on any FAL is the M25x1.5 receiver thread on an Izzy, which is a 75% overlap with 1"x16"

I remember being shocked when I read that a few years ago. But that guy has forgotten more about FALs than the rest of us will ever know.

It is hands down the best folder in the production AK world!
"Side Folder Is Best Folder"

The truth is the series 100 side folder is as solid as a fixed stock when it locked open. Nothing else compares or comes close in the military AKM/74 world.
It was definitely a very light rifle for sure.

Eh, if he says so. I just know I need metric mags and parts

1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are all series 100 rear trunnions. 1, 2 and 3 are series 100 stocks.
AND YES! Triangle Folder is BEST of the Side Folder Is Best Folder bunch!
No room for the cleaning kit in the metal folder. I like the looks of it, but prefer to use the poly folder.
I am one of the few KK members who actualy uses AK cleaning kit.

Shot an Arsenal 107fr for the first time to day. What’s all the hype about these? It was nice but the prices don’t seem to be worth it to me. Maybe I’m crazy

edit: this is the first arsenal of any type that I’ve ever shot.

Side folder is life

I got the rifle dynamics triangle pouch for my side folder cleaning kit
