I guess I don't understand how the receiver can be 5.5mm specific then, I assumed it was the diameter of the holes for the trunnion rivets.

Yea thats what I thought so, but apparently thats not the case. The consensus seems to be that they're different. That's been established(long ago), but none of the experts are chiming in, so I'll have to keep guessing.
