Yep I wasn’t sure about the velocity boost the extra 1” or 2” gain but I know that was always the argument with the 11.5/12.5 crowd. You absolutely won’t notice an increase or decrease in maneuverability that’s negligible. How many FPS you gain on that extra 2”?

I want some input.

I'm going to build a free float short 5.56 upper. You guys know I love the clone stuff. It's gonna be suppressed. I am leaning towards an 11.5" build...I remember reading that there were benefits over the 10.3" CQB/MK18 uppers but I don't remember what they were. MK18 uppers are sick as hell though. Would you guys go 10.3" or 11.5"? I normally want an A2 FSP but I'm not going to do that with this build.

Back when I was in to men and ARs I had a couple DD Mk18s. Pretty nice little package, but how 10.3 was chosen as the length I'll never understand. The 11.5 offers more velocity and better dwell time...and the 12.5 is better than both in every way.
