Geez. I can’t tell the difference between shit and shine-ola, apparently.
At some point I’d love to see a ‘good’ AK next to a ‘bad’ one, and let me figure out which is which.
WASR paratrooper is a good AK! It’s just dumb he wants 700.00 for it when clearly you can order it from Atlantic for 640.00 brand new right meow lol

That's one of the benefits to this thread and the guys in here. Everybody just wants people to get fair deals. There's never really an agenda, just knowledge.

I've overpaid for guns because I wanted them. But at least I knew I was overpaying.

There's a Saiga on odt, that was passed around for about a year. Always traded to somebody who didn't know anything about ak's and basically took it overvalued each time.

It struggles with different ammo's. It doesn't like CCI quiets at all. As long as the .22 ammo isn't to light of a load it cycles fine. I've got a ruger charger also that runs suppressed like a champ.
I’ve never gotten quiets to run in any semi-auto, but I use the hell outta the CCI “Suppressor” rounds. Shot a bunch this weekend through my 2 stamp 10/22

Yeah 5.56 is good when you’re humping a rifle and combat load for 10-12 miles with a billion other pounds of gear. The weapon is lighter the ammo is lighter so it allows you to carry more ammunition at the same weight as your enemy which when used in conjunction with controlled rates of fire let’s you run a gunfight longer. Aside from the military roll there’s MUCH better cartridges to run stateside for different stuff; hunting, self defense, long range etc.

I still love my 5.56 but only in the AR platform. No need for a bolt gun, or any other roll really.

guess it’s a good medium sized varmint round too?
It is a decent varmint caliber, but there are better choices. 22-250 is much flatter and has longer reach. 243 Winchester is a good varmint and deer caliber also. But more recoil than 22-250 or 223. For a busy prarie dog or arctic ground squirrel town 22-250 is the best.

A few years ago, I cut down on calibers. Try to have as few as possible, and I also rely heavy on ammo manufacturing trends.

If the world armies or nato are using a caliber, it will probably stay in production longer. Cheaper ammo as well, supply and demand.

Long term, fast forward through politics

I sorta feel like 5.56 is overpriced for how much of it is produced....

Same here. In rifle I keep x39, 5.56 and a bit of 30-06 for the Garand.
In rifle mags it is 10-22, AK, AR only.

Why? It is less accurate than M193?
I like dem penetrators. I don’t like dem barriers. But XM193 performs well enough for what it is on soft tissue targets. Tends to fragment well within closer distances. I just have an affinity for 855 because of my past. I’m pretty comfortable with what it can and cannot do out in the field
