So did HK just piss off all the clone makers or what? PTR, Zenith, POF, etc. are going to have to drop prices substantially to get people to buy them.

I also read a rumor @Fast306stang that they might update the K model you have to include the tri-lug and paddle mag.

im sure a ton of ppl are not happy about this. Best part is prices for the HK are pretty high right now but with it being that large of a manufacturer i'd be the prices start to drop even further as supplies start to catch up. MSRP is around 2400 i think and it would surprise me at all if they ended up around $1500 in a year or two.

You think they gonna come down from 2800??? I think They’re gonna go up homie

I don’t think HK will leave it on the line up forever. Especially at their current prices and they never drop prices. Once the fan boys have gobbled up their fill at 2800.00 it’ll sit there with smaller and smaller stock till one day it disappears like the USP, and USC, and P7, and SL8 etc

i also think they're going to go down. HK hasnt been selling a ton stateside minus the VP9, they sell rifles but never in a large quantity. I'd think this would be a great time to try and capture back some market shares and the MP5 is prob their best bet in order to do that. I personally hope they ramp production WAY up and flood the market with them and have the prices bottom out. USP, p2000, and vp9 all eventually had prices go crazy low. P7 and SL8 i believe never had the real demand for them to crank out real numbers. Could be totally wrong but i hope im not.

This is listed on the ODT as a WASR. The OP has sent me a picture with WASR 10 stamped on the left side of the receiver. It walks and talks like an RH10. Thoughts?

Yeah I don’t wanna see them fail at all, I would love to see HK succeed and the MP5 be here long term.
I guess also in regards to the USC and the SL8 the reason for their demise was partly due to the fact that they were completely different than their foreign and LEO counterparts. Single stack mags, stupid thumb hole stocks, even the colors were wrong.
Had they, or if they, bring in factory semi auto UMP/G36 clones I would be interested in those as well

and Wade/Todd Bailey and Tommy Bostik would be looking for a new gig.

to be fair I like Tommy a lot, but wade and Todd can kick rocks

They should have been selling MP5 pistols here since the 80s. Same with G36s. I'd love a G36 at the 2500ish mark.

Yeah 5.56 is good when you’re humping a rifle and combat load for 10-12 miles with a billion other pounds of gear. The weapon is lighter the ammo is lighter so it allows you to carry more ammunition at the same weight as your enemy which when used in conjunction with controlled rates of fire let’s you run a gunfight longer. Aside from the military roll there’s MUCH better cartridges to run stateside for different stuff; hunting, self defense, long range etc.

I still love my 5.56 but only in the AR platform. No need for a bolt gun, or any other roll really.

guess it’s a good medium sized varmint round too?
EXACTLY. This is the same reason the Army switched from .45acp to 9mm. You can carry the same number of rounds at half the weight, and since, generally speaking, ball 9mm is just about as effective as .45, the added weight logistically doesn’t make sense, especially when extrapolated across an entire theatre. Fuel savings alone make it a win.

Geez. I can’t tell the difference between shit and shine-ola, apparently.
At some point I’d love to see a ‘good’ AK next to a ‘bad’ one, and let me figure out which is which.
