308 win is for woods hunting the 300 rum is for hunting agricultural fields I still see alot of deer I would never shoot at. Our little agri field is 300 acres .the biggest over 800 acres
With that 300 rum I hunt bout any damn thing I want. It never fails to impress
No clue at where the hammer will drop but I am all in at $2200 on that one.

I was kidding... .300 RUM has huge advantages over .308, especially at distance.
Brother in law shot a doe at about 100 yards with a .300 win mag. He said it nearly liquified the insides. Never saw that one myself.
