It’ll wear them down quicker but it’s not like crazy noticeable honestly. I’m into shooting barrels out, I feel accomplished when I have done it. That being said phosphate non-lined AR barrels (80.00) with bi-metal boolits going down the pipe as fast as you can run it on semi-auto will still last 10,000 rounds without a doubt. That’s still 2000.00 worth the ammo I can easily afford to rebarrel an AR or drop in another barrel into a pistol if I’m throwing 2 grand down range. And by last I mean they won’t even be keyholing by then but probably getting close to “shot out” by our standards.Get a new pistol barrel while you're at it...Just beating that point to DEATH over here...
CHF/CL AK barrels typically are fed a strict diet of bi-metal ammunition and have no problem lasting 40-50,000 Plus rounds.
If you’re ever curious as to super Hi round count AKs Shot in full auto and what it does to components check out Battlefield Vegas reports on their demo guns. I’m talking 200,000 bi-metal rounds through WASRs type round count.
