I think it can help with some of the longer range stuff and follow up shots.
I really like the circle dot on the holosuns rather than just a plain dot because it's really easy to pick up versus the dot.
On the other hand, there are some pistols that I've put a ton of rounds through and it's mostly muscle memory.
And remember, keep both eyes open when shooting with a red dot
