How many rounds can an AK fire before it breaks down?

Ron from the Las Vegas gun range Battlefield Vegas, where, like many Vegas range’s they only allow their rental guns to be used, shared some thoughts on how different AK rifles fail after tens after thousands of rounds (the above photo shows 30 days worth of 7.62x39mm steel shot at their range...

The wear and tear on a Galil Ace with 10k rounds through it is showing a lot of promise compared to stamped variants with 10k rounds through them when you start crunching countries numbers And picking and choosing which model you’re comparing. Npap for example, or a Draco for example, what “AK” are we wanting to compare the Ace too? I’d say pick a high end, tried and true, Milled variant then run the numbers for sure

If you’re factiously saying that we can agree there, based off full auto ranges that do see 100-200k rounds down range and log their weapons accordingly. Milled is a longer-lasting design. That has been proven.

100yds with 7.62, less than 1.5” at 200yds with 5.45
maybe not typical, but this is best out of multiple Veprs
