My yawn wasn't for you, it was for the super long server space waste that the article took up.

If you want pins put them in.

AR astronauts never seize to amaze me. They act like the stoner rifle had as much engineering as a Elon Musk space craft.

Is simple really. In my personal opinion you do not want hardened pins rotating in a aluminum receiver. If you did, why in the world is the pin hole hardening process necessary on an AK? Its because the rotatation could cause hole egging over prolonge heavy use. . If this is the case with a steel receiver why would you want steel pins rotating in a aluminum receiver.

And for the comment on running dry.... Every mechanical object that has moving parts that produce friction needs lube.

No.... I did not read the entire waste of server space.

If I'm wrong so be it... Im sticking to my knowledge of mechanical experience and not taking every so called ExPeRT's advice as gospel.

I concur with your post. Well said.

@Grunk im ready to ship this box out. I went digging and found a BUNCH of stuff. Also a note explaining it all. You’re gonna have a sweet mail call that will rival @Jds556762 hand written note from secret Santa
OUTSTANDING! I'm stoked. It'll help with my mood today. Getting together with Suz's family. She's excited. Hasn't seen them in a long time. I have to play nice. I'm pissed as hell at all of them cuz they live within 30 minutes of us & none of them have come to visit her in over 3 months.

Managed to engineer a way to use the original mounting screws to mount the wood to the tube.

It's a pain to get them in, but once installed I should never have to remove them again.

Had to drill a hole so the barrel mount screw would fit flush

And finally cut a notch for the gas tube lever to have clearance

So if the HGs and grip are $50, is the stock worth another $50?

I got the whole set in Plum, gonna sell/cell/sail it one of these days...

Luckily, you didn't have to cut down the two edges that meet by about 3/4" (3/8" each side) and notch the upper edges to fit around the rear sight block.

That took some time, and a bench belt sander.

Got the grips swapped out. The fatties won't allow easy 30 round mag changes but the Romy's do, even without the nub sanded off. So I'm happy about that.

Pair of Polish fatties, $45 shipped.

*NO MOUNTING HARDWARE!*
