AKs were designed for bimetal bullets. Cold hammer forged barrel with chrome lining. I have 15 year old Veprs with cases and cases thru them, and they are still accurate.
Yeah, I’m pretty careful about what I put through my AR rifles, but I realize that the Russian (or Chinese) weapons were designed for that crap, so I never worried about putting it through my SKS’s or Mosin. Same would be true for the M70AB2.

Here’s a very scientific test of steel-cased ammo vs brass cased - Spoiler alert -
It wasn’t about the cases at all...

Combat rifles should be able to eat anything. The cost savings of shooting steel outweighs the marginal cost of rebarreling a Mattel gun
