Anyone know what’s up with this neutered mag? Holds 10 rounds but couldn’t get it to catch in my dads AR, all other mags worked fine. It’s 20 round size

Looks like they sawed it in sections and pinned the bottom section back on. Never seen that before, what a waste.
The mag catch hole is on the only side you didn’t show, so I didn’t know why it won’t catch.
Will it catch if you load only 9 in it?

I’m decent with animal surgery if you need a steady hand. Not really familiar with this specific animal, but I’ll help if you need. At the very least I can wrangle the chicken for you while you do the cutting.
