So, after watching several documentaries on spontaneous human combustion I now know that the person probably:
A. was unhealthy, and likely a drunk
B. was incapacitated before the fire (see A.)
C. clothing, ignited, smolders slowly, melting body fat. The fat is drawn into the clothing same as oil getting drawn into a candle wick. That fat continues to melt/burn until it and the clothing are completely gone, leaving only lower legs and extremities intact. Makes for some creepy scenes.
