Thanks, but I tried that route with the SKS, and wasn’t happy with the results. I’ll wait for a side-mount. I’m patient.

That's mostly a myth. Someone like Aimpoint would probably like you to try to melt their optic that way. Eotech would burst into flames.

I put an Ultimak on my Garand. Didn’t really like it much. Maybe it was the 2.5-8x32 scope, but it just didn’t feel right.

Beryl rail is the way to go, if you have a Fox or Beryl rifle.
