If the front sight base is straight enough to zero and mags lock and feed with no issues it's good, no matter what year is stamped on the trunnion.
I honestly prefer a shotty with a 22 inch barrel as a general purpose gun. Long enough for hunting but still short enough for handling. If I ever get $, I want an 1100 with a 22" barrel & ghost ring sights as my truck gun.
