I could say that if FA guns were 5-8k for the esoteric stuff I'd have one or two. I'd love an FA G36C...but that's about as high of a value I see in them.

I’ll have to run this statement by Greg before I can say whether I agree or not.
I agree 100% the last one I bought was the m11/9 for 5k but now its worth 7k so nice bump in price and it will be my last one I buy.
I have 5 machine guns total and will not shoot the others but will shoot the M11/9 Because that is what i bought it for.
The others are now just Retirement money for me as they have increased in value by stupid amounts.

A lot of RANGES don’t you you shoot 338 LM .BUT 300 win they will.
Both of them make my shoulder hurt just thinking about it. 308 is about what my shoulder can handle over 20 rounds in a range visit.
A could of rounds of of skeet/trap/sporting clays (12ga) will have me sore for a couple of days.
