freedom of religion has more to do with the state not having sanctioned sects of christianity then it does people choosing false gods to worship. our country was founded as a Christian nation. the founders wanted to avoid what happened in Europe with certain regions enforcing catholicism or protestantism.
That just sounds eerily similar to the same argument anti gunners use against us. Interpreting the second amendment, you know a well-regulated militia, Assault weapons, tanks and weapons of war etc

putting the bill of rights in a box

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

@Jds556762 the heart of the problem is people chose to be Americans first and christians second. the Founding fathers understood that the only way our nation could survive is to predicate it on a foundation that goes beyond individual rights, such as self sacrifice and a morality that comes from God. if you treat individual rights as God instead of treating them as a gift from God.....well...... look at where were currently at and thats what you get

but it does. when you have a gathering that large that effects the culture negatively I would say its the civil responsibility to plea and petition them to change course. obviously the state and feds shouldn't be involved, like Adams said, the idea and principles of our constitution is solely reliant on the law of God. so it has no place in a secular culture.
If you CAN KEEP the government out if it maybe. "Negatively effecting the culture"is the argument used for prohibition, the war on drugs & gun control. Most people, even religious people, when persuasion fails, turn to calling for government force.

I don't see the correlation at all...
