I would most likely have called about my property after a while, too. I don't know anyone at the ATF but in general, if they didn't arrest him that day, they would have been back to to it pretty quick. Unless he's involved in something illegal he didn't admit in his posts, it's not going to take months for them to decide if it was an auto weapon or not, lol.

My Uncle Don was a sailor from the late 40s through the Korean War. Coolest dude.
He said in the late 40s they were off a Japanese Island, Americans had brought rifles/weapon on to the ship and had a pile as big as a house of them. They told the sailors to pick what they wanted. He said "I picked up a couple, but they looked like junk so I just threw them back in the pile". He said after the guys picked through them, a dozer pushed the whole pile off the side, into the sea.
