You obviously ain't familiar with the uneducated population of the rural south. Republican is still a dirty word in some hollers. Some people still mad about the way the south was ravaged during reconstruction and how it never financially recovered, which is why there is not only an income gap but an education gap between states North and South of the Mason Dixon.

Man, I don't know if it's the harsh attitude from that war, or just the isolation and poverty. The hills on the Ark/Okla state line area are just bad news in a lot of areas.
