What in the hell is a "granduncle"? Is that like your grandpa and your uncle? Looks like names aren't the only thing y'all keep in the family.

The preferred term is "great uncle" (thus Grunk). It is an ancient Celtic title meaning one who gets the joy of spoiling little ones & teaching them things that horrify the other family adults, but, since they are his niece's & nephew's children, never had to go through the cost, responsibility & bullshit of raising his own children.

Basically, I get to be a cool grandfather without ever having done the hard work of being a father.

Here we go. I asked the lady doing my setup, she said

"So let me understand this. You want us to take pictures of you while you're opened on the table ???? .......... Well, Mr Old Skool, I think that's the coolest request I've had, we can make that happen"

This was my final surgery (#4). 2 teams of surgeons, 14x14 pigskin bolted in with 22 anchors, and 3500 sutures. I'm wide open on that table.
