I get it, to a degree. Flatten the curve while tanking the economy for months, thousands losing jobs, etc., no.

I think the "novel" part of this means we have no natural resistance to it as it is unlike the "regular" flu. Once you get this, I'm sure it will mutate like other viruses but you'd then have at least some resistance to it.

The flu vaccine, while not always perfect, at least helps provide some ancillary benefit by getting your body "used to" viruses like it. I'm not a virologist, Dr, or lab technician so take that for what it's worth.
