It's an M. I posted correcting the OP and he deleted the comment. You can tell it's an M by the location of the bayonet lug. The D has a slightly longer barrel and the lug is in a different position.
Why does it say Sporter on the receiver? Mine says SKS M.
Found more info about Sporter. It is neither D nor M. But came into US with a D-like Stock.

D has a 20" barrel and the M has a 16.5" barrel, which is the easiest difference to discern
