That was me.
Looks like it’s not a French service pistol like mine.
Fun fact #1- many of the Frenchmen who were issued Ruby pistols during The Great War were unaware that it was not designed to empty the entire magazine when the trigger was pulled!
Mine, fortunately, has a fully functional disconnector.
Fun fact #2 - These pistols were produced so hastily during wartime, and by so many small and large Spanish gun makers that they were unable to keep all of the pistols to a common set of specifications. As a result, parts - even magazines - were not interchangeable most of the time. For this reason the makers’ name was abbreviated to two initials and stamped inside an oval on the left side of the frame at the grip tang, and again on the body of the magazine. Also, a small Star was placed on the bottom of the grip frame at the mag well to denote French acceptance.
