My general impression was that SA seemed to have better build quality by a slim margin...but Colt had some sort of intangible x factor.
And all the SA's are series 70 internals.........I despise the series 80 firing block.......but I am looking to buy a Colt XSE in all it's series 80 glory right now, lol.

For the above a grand 1911's I think its really hard to beat a SA TRP, probably the finest production gun built at that price point. Another $500-$1000 gets you to another level....but I aint sure it's worth it beyond the 1911 attention whoring "look at muh gun" that comes in the box. Who knows?

I've bought and sold all my Dan Wessons at or below the $1K level. That's my break point lol...
