I'm fairly certain that everyone on this forum knows how it'll go in November when Hillary is elected. Pending legislation for an AWBII type ban or not, shit will hot the fan. I can't remember another election when firearms rights, or the willingness to eliminate them has come up as often as it has on this cycle...not even close.

What scenario do you see playing out?

I don't expect to see anything but the paint on the ammo shelves by October. No more bullets in stores (unless you target shoot with a.375 H&H or a .32 ACP), magazines that hold more than 10 rounds will disappear from every corner of retail, and you won't be able to find a semi-auto rifle for sale at anything like today's prices.

I have thought about selling it all this go around and getting deeper into wood and metal working.

I'm only about half way on all measures.

Yeah, I'm trying to build the ARs I've been wanting and then I'll stock up on mags and ammo. After that I may build a few cheap rifles to sell just in case there is a panic buy.

Where are you noticing that "people are buying the hell out of stuff"? I only ask as I'm not seeing this trend; aside from .22 pricing, I'm not seeing much that isn't available or anything to lead me to believe people are "buying the hell out of" anything in particular. Just curious

Those are states that they have access to firearms purchase data through a chain of very large gun shops. Firearms sales, ammo sales,and NICS checks are waaay up at those particular stores. Yeah, it's not the southeast, but I think it's pretty representative.
This is pretty hard data related to $$$ of gun, and gun related sales and background checks. The guys I talk to are friends from when I worked for this company, and they are corporate line leaders (purchase for the stores), and specialty shop managers.

The sporting goods stores to which I am referring are all among the biggest if not the biggest by volume in their respective states, with many of the states having more than one location. That's a pretty fair representation of overall activity.

The facts are, that there is an increasing amount of purchasing going on ahead of the election. I don't care where you are in the US, it's fairly evident. I talk to guys that buy for a huge line of gun shops, and they've indicated that sales volume is increasing at a rapid rate. That's pretty much all I was passing along....a bit of shift from pre-2008 when people just kind of sat on their collective hands a bit more.
If you'd like to counter that, maybe use some english words, rather than suppositions.
