I truly loathe Adventure Outdoors

I just wasted two and a half hours at Adventure Outdoors. I went with a buddy who wanted to look at a gun they had. The sales people are dicks, everyone has an IDGAF attitude about them. Once he decided to buy the gun the salesman took 30 mins on the paperwork then called for a runner. They had to call for him 3 times. It took 20 minutes to get someone to walk to the front with the gun. Then, we waited in line for 20 minutes behind 1 person. After 20 minutes they moved us to another lane where the cashier was "just finishing up with a customer". We waited there while the previous lane we were in passed through 3 customers. It was easily another 15 minutes then the cashier said to the guy in front of us, " I just need to enter this background check and wait for an approval" and started typing. We walked out and left the gun on the conveyor. It was literally a full hour between saying "I'll take it" and walking out empty handed. How the hell do they run a business like that?

I have hated them for years. They weren't bad at the old location but just damn they have the worst service ive ever seen.
Me and a buddy went down there a few years back and he bought a pistol, nearly a 3 hour process. They called him up a couple days later and told him he had until the end of the day to come back in and redo the 4473, because they couldn't read their own hand writing, or else they would just report the gun stolen.

AO is like so many big box stores. They only care about the bottom line and prey on pros who have to have it "right now." If you can wait you can almost always get a better deal online and then the savings is good enough to come out cheaper after paying an NFL dealer a transfer fee unless they charge $50.

I bought from Clyde Armory in Athens and Academy in Cartersville and both experiences took less than 30 mins in and out and it was not a slow day at either store.

I bought a gun there once because They were the ONLY ones around that had it and I’m impulsive. Once I decide to get something, I don’t wait.

I wouldn’t do it again if I had another choice, but I’ve bought guns from most of the big box stores including wal-mart, academy and bass pro and my experience at AO was better than all three of those places.

They did walk it from the gun counter to the front register, but from there I walked right out the door. Didn’t get molested by the fat man @Laufen apparently had a run in with. Bass pro, wal-mart and academy all escort you to the parking lot like you’re a fucking shoplifter.

Yup. That’s what I said. My dad had cash in his pocket looking to buy a safe from them. He liked one but wanted a manual dial. He was directed to a manager who proceeded to tell him he didn’t have time to go around answering a bunch of questions. My dad then proceeded to tell him to go fuck himself and left. Yeah. I tried to to purchase a stripped lower there, and they wouldn't let me have it without providing an email address and something else asinine on the 4473. Told them they could keep their shit until they accept forms without having me to give info that the ATF doesn't even ask for.
