So my significant other was gonna trade in her Jeep and buy a Range Rover Evoque, but now she's decided to keep it and just have it vinyl wrapped...
Oh and she had a great tint job done yesterday.

but muh sight radiusI'm lost on the RPK thing... optimal barrel length for 7.62x39 is 12.5"...
If it ain't FA it ain't no FUN.

I think this is what it is, but there is a lot less velocity loss coming out of a 12.25" barrel compared to 5.56x45For 7.62x39 it’s actually 16-20”, below or above that and you’re losing velocity with most common ammo
Yes, the 7.62x39 has a much lower reduction in velocity when going short barrel Than most other calibers. That‘s what makes it so awesome. You lose 83fps dropping from 16 to 12.5 and lose almost no accuracy. Seems like an easy choice to me. Anything above 16 and you only gain about 70fps.
Science.
Definitely. The only oddball short barrel 5.56 I’ve tested that got pretty good velocity is the cheap KelTec PLR16, which still managed around 2650fps with 62gr and over 2700fps with 55gr. Impressive for a 9” 5.56I think this is what it is, but there is a lot less velocity loss coming out of a 12.25" barrel compared to 5.56x45
I don’t need it. I want it. But don’t need it. really good price since pre covid I soldvone for 100 or 110Romanian back loader for sail...
