Anyone on here have any experience w Hi powers?

My 9mm carbine was great. One mag tended to nose dive, but it was some no name mag that i got with it.

The action didn't come apart. No way to clean it except spray stuff in the gaps and hope for the best.

Edit- shit, my bad... high power, not high point.

Just wondering how they run. I’m aware of the mag disconnect and stuff. Just wondering more about how reliable and how they shoot
Extremely reliable. Especially the models after 1962 that have an external extractor. SAO (but that's my favorite kind of semi-auto). Removing the mag disconnect does wonders for the trigger. Hammer bite is a problem for some people, especially civilian models with spur hammers. Easily remedied with a ring style hammer. I always loved the way they shot & wish I never got rid of my last one since production ended by Browning in 2018. Hungary, Turkey &, I think, India are still producing clones. The staggered 13 round mag is nothing special now but was extraordinary when introduced in 1935. Adopted in over 93 countries for military & LEO use, so a long history as a reliable service weapon. Loved to have one again.

Big Woods Goods had a few Shadow Systems MR920's(basically a Gucci Glock 19) today for like $750(can't remember how much exactly, but it was around that). I really like the feel of those things.

They also had a $1,800 WASR 10/63 right next to an $1,800 5.56 Galil ACE pistol with brace.

Well, then I'm King Fudd. If I could only have 3 handguns it would be a 1911, a BHP & a 3.5" Model 27.
Sad part is I owned all 3 at one point. Now I'm down to a single, non-custom 1911. On the plus side, Suz has had treatments for her autoimmune stuff all along & we are still in the house she loves. That makes me happier than the guns I've sold would.

About 5 years ago on another forum, one of the fll’s got a rather large buy of the Israeli made hipowers. The finish was beat to hell so I didn’t buy one. But those that did said they were 100% reliable. Regrets.
