$9 to start and they had basic medical coverage and no retirement plan.

Osha was there a couple times. Once in the mid 90s when a guy got killed, again when a girl got killed. The last union meeting I attended was focused on getting a fired employee re-instated. Worthless union worker refused to clean up the bloody mess after Maria Constancio was crushed in a palletizer. His boss fired him for refusing, even though there was no biohazard precautions, training whatsoever.

He got his job back with back pay. So, yeah....sometimes unions are necessary.

Nope. Will never agree. Company needs to be held accountable for safety violations, and just like where I work there is an assumption of risk. If I'm ever u willing to assume that risk, I'll quit
