I don’t understand this general belief.
It you leave the finish as is it’s worth more, even though it looks like shit.
But if you have it re-blued to protect it for another hundred years and make it look nice, it’s worth less.

I have an 1897 take down that I’m struggling with.
That’s kinda were I was at on it. Finish is pretty shit so in order to protect it and just to have a nice looking gun it would be nice to have it re-blued or maybe have a high polish done

also havent acquired much in the foreign weapons but I FINALLY managed to snag something i've had my eye on for about as long as i had been on the odt

An actual all original Romanian PSL made by cugir. Not an SVD and not the most elegant but i've always wanted one. Still got to find an optic for it though. Nice part is the trigger feels like its already had some work done because its damn nice and at least someone already has gotten it threaded

Always wanted one too. A couple christmases ago a guy had one on ODT, he came down to I think 1200 but I just couldn’t justify it at the time.

If you want some badass black and gray, I know a guy who is $2500 cash up front for 7 hours. I won't get a sleeve or openly visible ink while I'm still a wage slave.

$300+ per hour.... makes attorneys jealous.

I was just using "sleeve" because it's the only tattoo lingo i know. But yeah, the traditional ink work sounds awesome.

And my internet and cable are out... hope it's fixed by work time tomorrow.

Yeah, it’s the collectors who drive that ideology. They’d rather know the finish was original and have a small amount of “honest wear” or “patina” than have something refinished by a newer method.

I was a collector, and went by the same ideal until one day I realized that NONE of my stuff was destined for a museum, and that when I die it’ll all get sold off to fund something more important for my family.

So now I only *try* to buy stuff that I really have a purpose for using.

But I’ve still got a lot of my ‘collection’ hanging around that I’ve gotta find a new home for.
Just haven’t been motivated enough to do it.
If you have a SVT-40 I need it

Oh, yeah.... drove an hour and a half rounds trip to look at that knife grinder the guy had for sale (Bader 3 grinder)... the drive wheel was way out of round and it had no attachments. And not variable speed.

In his defense, he had 2 listed (but i could only find 1 listing). One 2hp variable with lots of attachments- $1500 (half price at least vs. new). Smaller 1.5hp, fixed speed and he wanted $1200.

Both had issues. Not nearly worth the money.

I guess I'm buying a new Ameribrade.

JP Alfonso. Took me a minute to remember his name. Came over on a boat from Cuba or some shit when he was 14 and learned to tattoo.

Google his tats, crazy...
