I got my bat and was going to bash this guys head in. After talking to him a while, I asked him nicely to not continue to till it up every night for weeks. Lol, nope. I was subjected to constant advertising campaigns that targeted young people in the 70s and early 80s. I chose to drink, became addicted, and really got off track for about a decade. I realized I needed to do something different, so I chose to do something else.

I have been prescribed opioids after surgery. If I abused them and became addicted, it would be my responsibility to do something about it. Blaming a doc for making it available is like blaming a gun dealer for mass shootings.

And save the lecture about how deadly opioid addiction is, I promise you I know it all too well.

I'm definitely no one to lecture anyone, I just think it's kind of different. I didn't experience most of that alcohol promotion in its hey-day, but I was a child of the 80's so I caught the last part. I still think social drinking is glorified in entertainment and too accepted, but I have a biased opinion because I choose to not drink.

Going to a professional you trust seeking help and being prescribed something that was chemically engineered to be addictive is really fucked up. The way that dynasty tried to absolve themselves of blame is some straight evil empire shit.

I had alcoholism and drug abuse in my family but I've never done either.
