Dead on or 6 o'clock?

Always dead on. My dad asked me the same thing when he got me a bb gun for my 4th birthday. "Do you want to float your target or aim right at it"? Dead on man, even at that age I couldn't stand not actually aiming AT what I wanted to hit. That old Crosman 760 slayed a lot of creation too.
It depends on the sights I'm using and the height of the front sight post. I like Heinie sights and run them on most of my pistols. They are designed to "shoot the dot", meaning the front sight dot is basically point of impact. Other factory sights are designed to either aim off the top edge of the blade as POI, so you would basically hold on the center of the target with the top edge. And then there are those that are designed for a Bullseye hold at 6 o'clock. I hate those. They are designed for a hold on the bottom of a Bullseye target for POI at the center, essentially POI is some distance above the sights.
Wiped out the entire squirrel population at my dad's house with a 760. They don't make like they used to. I had 100 pumps many a time on that gun and never had it give out!
lol, my grandpa joked that I sterilized the creek bottom by our house...you couldn't even find a sparrow.
