That's awesome. Afraid I'm gonna show my ignorance, but what is it? It looks kind of like the Gyrojet. Obviously not of course.

It's a nambu type 94, the best example of the jap military culture gone horribly wrong.

I'd never shoot it... I like my right hand, and would not want to take the chance, that it might blow up on me.

I don't think they have a rep for that, just that you can shoot it without touching the trigger and yes it seems to work :)

Then its the other one that tends to have catastrophical mechanical failure... Either way, I still would not shoot it.

Finally got a Unicorn that i have been chasing for years, as a Nerd that has spent millions in other peoples money buying IBM equipment I have wanted an IBM M1 carbine ever since I first heard of them and It had to have the early flip sights as newer sights cover the IBM stamp on the receiver.

I was able to acquire this example of a Bavarian that was likely later sold to Austria and then CMP as I have not found any import markings. I have not pulled it apart yet but all the parts on the outside look correct "As it left the factory" except for Austrian leather sling obviously (hope that holds up or I may have grossly over payed as we tend to do when finding unicorns). Another fun fact is that someone in Germany was confused about the American way of not stamping all parts with serial and went ahead and stamped the serial on at least the oprod and maybe other parts :)

Does anyone know if CMP has a serial database that I can check if this came through CMP? IMG_0461.JPG

I don't know jack shit about M1 carbine's, esp. the IBM ones... But... I just find it odd, that it didn't come with a bayonet lug under the barrel. And one day I'd love to find a real M1 carbine WWII dated Paratrooper model... And I'll do that just as soon as I win the lottery.

The bayonet lug came with the type 3 barrel band, most where converted to that spec for Korea but during WW2 they did not have it. I still kick myself occasionally for not grabbing a paratrooper a few years ago when I had the opportunity to get one for 1,600.

anyone have a M1 carbine trigger housing pin laying around, apparently I managed to loose it, or maybe it just wasn't there. looks like my new M1 carbine has been on display for year without any use as its squeaky clean and bone dry.

If I were to butcher an SMLE it would be to turn it into a De Lisle. Definitely a bucket list gun for me!

Okay, I'll bite. What is that? It's definitely cool looking.

Do you guys shoot all of these old things?
1889 Glisenti Brescia and I wish I could shoot all these things some are just to hard to source ammo for and others I just dont have time to shoot :(

Does this qualify as C&R? It's a '94 Winchester made in 1910, and chambered in .38-55. Was my grandpa's hunting rifle when he was growing up that his dad gave him and then he gave it to my dad for his 18th birthday and my dad gave it to me when I turned 18. Apparently it's a pretty rare piece with the half octagon barrel and the "button" magazine tube and the .38-55 chambering. I was told by an appraiser that it must have been a special order gun because Winchester never made a factory gun in that particular configuration.
