For the sake of this thought experiment lets say that it is 2017, Hillary has just activated the brain chip in the liberals/lefties brains and they, along with UN, North Koreans, and Chicoms have taken up arms and are invading.
You live in the northern reaches of the suburbs of Atlanta. 15-20 minutes of driving north and you would be in a semi-rural area. 15-20 mins south and you're inside the perimeter. You plan on trying to leave and find a hill somewhere in north GA to hold out, but you have got to fight your way there.
Leaving the fact that you'd likely never make it out of the suburbs, in this type of situation, where you would spend some time in the suburbs and some time in a rural area, would you rather have some type of large caliber battle rifle or an intermediate caliber carbine? I'm talking along the lines of a 16" .semi auto .308 as a battle rifle vs either a 7.62 AK or 5.56 AR.
Would you rather have the punch of a full powered rifle round that can do all things well or the intermediate power of an AK or AR that is much better for urban environments but is somewhat lacking in a open rural area?
