I also have the Streamlight Polytac on a couple other rifles. It's the cheapest best option in my opinion.
What switch do you have that works with Polytacs? I have a few Polytacs, great torches.I'm glad you said that- the tail cap I have is compatible with those lights. I'll get one.
Which switch?Tlr1-HL with pressure switch.
Initially i used the factory toggles then decided that was a no go b I was constantly bumps the toggle when the rifle was slung.

Nothing wrong w that setup at all. I have two rifles setup that way.I have two streamlight polytacs on two different setups. For my uses, they work well.
No need for remote switches, wires, etc. - to me that's just more things that can go wrong, get in your way at the worst time.
I just mount them 11 or 2 o' clock where I can reach them with my support hand. Not too close for an accidental activation but close enough when you mean it.
I'm sure there's a dirty joke to be made there but anyway...

Naw, the Surefire is an older LX2, the TLR2 was a little more, but it's hard to beat for a compact, light weight & bright lightBig money!
Link? The vtacs...cheap and lightweight. I try to minimize weight where possible.
