    Reloading room

If you'd been scuffing your feet on a carpet before you sat down and the first thing you reached for was a primer, you might get a spark which might set off the primer. Having worked with delicate electronics for many years (since the late 1960s), I have always been aware of static electricity...

    What are you carrying today?

Rich, I'd like to know how you cut the pages out in the book you've pictured. That looks like it's very well done and I'm guessing that it isn't easy to do that with everyday household tools.

    What are you carrying today?

I think a big dictionary with a Beretta 92FS or a nice 1911 buried in it would be a nice package. ::)

    Reloading room

I agree 100% with Dennis. The video didn't even get into how much setup it takes to make the Dillon press turn out proper loads. Once it's well set up, of course, production volume is a lot more than non-automated methods but no newbie watching the video would understand what it took to make...

A little knowledge for all semi-auto (and revolver) owners.

I think many shooters (or folks doing other things) get rather complacent with what they do. It's a good idea to wake us all up once in a while. I've combined the semi-auto and revolver threads and made this combination a sticky.

Great post, Nomad. I hope everybody looks at those videos. My wife got the web of her support hand cut when she shot my Walther PPK/S. Fortunately, it was a relatively minor injury but she will never forget it.

    Reloading room

You definitely understand the differences. The reloading process that I use is significantly slower than using a well-tuned progressive system. However, I enjoy the reloading process almost as much as shooting what I make. Of course, I also enjoy shooting ammo that is as good as it gets. For...

Did you build an ark for the animals, Rich? ::)

    Reloading room

Ray, what you saw in the video was a system that is very much automated for high volume production. I, on the other hand, do all of the steps in loading my ammunition manually instead of using a progressive machine like Bill showed in the video. The reason is that I have better control over...

    Steel targets

Unfortunately, our club's range rules prohibit any targets except paper ones hung on the club's backing boards.

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

I stopped in at Cabela's yesterday afternoon and found plenty of primers, powder, and bullets on the shelves. I have enough so I didn't buy any, but it was tempting for sure.

    What are you carrying today?

Gotta change the title to "were" instead of "are" ::) , but I was carrying my LCP in my Bulldog "cell phone" holster today except while I was working for the Emergency Management Director (Wisconsin law gets in the way there).

    Looking good for sure.....

    Any one tried these?

Loading a relatively light load (because of the lead bullets) for training with a defensive pistol may not produce the same recoil and handling as a load the duplicates the load you use for carry. I'm not suggesting that your loads need to be "+P" equivalent (unless that's what you carry in the...

    Any one tried these?

Dave, those appear to be lead bullets. I'd suggest getting a small sample, if possible, to see what they do in YOUR barrel. Some barrels, particularly Glocks, lead up rather badly and it's a bear to clean them properly. If you want to do like I do and create near-clones for self defense ammo...

    N.A.A. .22 MiniMag ammo

A quick Google search came up with this page that shows that the product is current. I use the CCI Stinger .22 LR high velocity hollowpoint round for dispatching garden-eating bunnies from time to time. The Mini-Mag uses a 40gr round nose bullet while the Stinger uses a 32gr hollow point...

    N.A.A. .22 MiniMag ammo

If the firearm uses .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR) cartridges, standard .22 ammo will not function properly. The outside diameter of the cartridges is quite different (.226" for .22LR and .242" for .22 WMR). .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle all use the same diameter cartridges and...

    Mama said OK........

That's definitely correct, Ray. I have a set of hand operated loading tools which were made by Lee back in the early 1970s called the Lee Target Model Zero Error. These tools resize only the cartridge case neck (leaving the case body fire-formed to the chamber), allow you to ream the inside...

    Mama said OK........

I realize that you're winking, but using a red-dot optic isn't the best way to get real tight groups. The red dot in the EXPS2-0 is one minute of angle diameter (one inch diameter at 100 yards). For real accuracy fun, I have an old .222 Remington 40XBR (a benchrest rifle made for me in...
