    Is this "Stand Your Ground"?

With the baiting and leaving doors open, I really doubt that a jury would believe that the shooter was honestly afraid for his/her life. Only that would make a shooting legitimate under Wisconsin's "Castle Doctrine" law.

    Is this "Stand Your Ground"?

I seriously doubt that this case - assuming that the facts are as stated in the article - would be considered covered by the "castle doctrine" or "stand your ground" laws.

New law in Georgia - VERY interesting and encouraging

The Georgia governor just signed House Bill 60, or the Safe Carry Protection Act of 2014, into law. Read about it here. In my opinion, the sort of thinking that went into this law should be spread across the country.

Remington Model 700 and Model Seven recall

I, too, would like to find out what the details of the problem involve. I realize that the trigger is very different from the one in my Remington 40XBR benchrest rifle (made for me in the early 1970s), but I'm still curious.

OK, boys, time to set a new bar for your shooting skills

I can't imagine waiting ten seconds or so to hear that I hit the target. ::)

Firearms International Corporation .410 gauge shotgun

That is neat. I'm surprised that I've never seen one or even an article about that gun before.

Springfield Armory XDm or Beretta 92?

You should try the Beretta 92 with the finger-groove Hogue grips attached. They make the pistol feel like an extension to your arm.

The need to change things in your gun?

I agree 100% with Rich. One thing that really bothers me is the companies that sell internal firearms parts to folks with installation instructions knowing very well that the customer often has no idea what they are doing. These folks are often modifying carry weapons and could be putting...

Springfield Armory XDm or Beretta 92?

I've never handled (or even seen) the XDm, but I own a Beretta 92FS. It's by far the most reliable and rugged pistol that I have and it's fun to shoot. It stays near my desk.

    Got Glock?

One would think that the maker of jackets for law enforcement folks would think about the stupidity of having the drawstrings dangle in the vicinity of their weapons.

I never even noticed the goof. That's funny. ::)

    Got Glock?

That video should drive home the critically important need to make sure that your clothing isn't able to cause a potential problem when carrying. This is true regardless of the pistol brand/type that one carries.

    What are you carrying today?

I like that, Rich. Thanks for the link. If I decide to go IWB some day, that will definitely be on my short list.

    What holster is that, Rich?

Known sources for ammunition - Availability Board

I was at our local WalMart yesterday and they had all sorts of pistol ammo in their cabinet. Buying the limit on any one caliber would not have cleaned them out of it.

    Small muzzleloaders

I don't have any muzzle-loading firearms, but many years ago I decided to see what the "cowboys" had to deal with and I loaded a box of my .45 Long Colt cartridges with black powder. I shot them in my old Ruger Blackhawk (original action design mimicking the original Colt). I even touched...
