My son went to the range without me yesterday. He rented a Beretta 92 as well as an Springfield XDm. He has his mind set on one of the two for range work... not carry.

He says the XDm is awesomely accurate. Much more so than the Beretta. However, he likes the feel and handling of the Beretta.

So he asked me which I would like...

And I pass on the question...

Accuracy is tops on my list, especially if he wants to use it as a bedside gun at night. I have not shot either, so I can't downgrade either, but sounds like he made his mind up already. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the XDm 9mm have a 20 round magazine available?? Hard to top that. Yogi 8)

I've never handled (or even seen) the XDm, but I own a Beretta 92FS. It's by far the most reliable and rugged pistol that I have and it's fun to shoot. It stays near my desk.

Get the Springfield. I have a XD service (4 inch) and it it very accurate right out of the box. My best shooting gun.

I did shoot the XD and there's no doubt it's a high quality, 10+ rounds through the same hole, shooter.
Guess I'll have to rent a Beretta to cool my own prejudices.

Wife: Don't you have too many guns, honey?
Answer: More than I need but not as many as I want! ::) ::) :-*
