Preparedness Depot in Acworth, GA

Bloomberg's at it again. I'd suggest we circle the wagons.

I haven't been with them that long, but the ante keeps getting raised, and they (we cumulatively) are the best line of 2a defense.

The ammo shortage to date (a POLL)

Re: The ammo shortage to date (POLL) I barely check the ammo case at Walmart any more although my brother said he found four boxes of Mini Mags there on his last trip... $7.75 each.

New law in Georgia - VERY interesting and encouraging

It is good news after the setbacks we had in the recent past.

Springfield Armory XDm or Beretta 92?

Currently, my son is leaning toward the XDm. Accuracy is taking the front seat in the decision process. I'm good with that, the Beretta, or both!

Firearms International Corporation .410 gauge shotgun

    Can't beat that minimalistic look.

    LC9 put through the paces.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could have the SR9c trigger... On the LC9! Oh man, oh man!

The need to change things in your gun?

I think Michael Bane on the "Shooting Gallery" showed his latest CW. It was an LC9 with a very custom red trigger. Sometimes it's hard to NOT notice and then follow suit.

Springfield Armory XDm or Beretta 92?

I did shoot the XD and there's no doubt it's a high quality, 10+ rounds through the same hole, shooter. Guess I'll have to rent a Beretta to cool my own prejudices.

The need to change things in your gun?

I don't even think of a sight adjustment until I'm property acquainted with the new gun. >:(

Springfield Armory XDm or Beretta 92?

My son went to the range without me yesterday. He rented a Beretta 92 as well as an Springfield XDm. He has his mind set on one of the two for range work... not carry. He says the XDm is awesomely accurate. Much more so than the Beretta. However, he likes the feel and handling of the...

    Got Glock?

It's just that Glocks are just so dang ugly! It's never what gets caught up in the trigger guard.

    Got Glock?

With the availability of elastic waistbands on jackets, why even have drawstrings? There seems to be precedent that they're just a bad idea.

Known sources for ammunition - Availability Board

My son took a quick business trip down to Columbus, OH. While there, he stopped at one of the bigger sport outfitters there. He was told there is no .22 anything available in the entire region. At least we can get some .22 around here, even if the price is a little inflated.

    Got Glock?

I've just got this image of the bullet entering his leg just below the holster and running down the length of his thigh. He's most lucky. I don't think that drawstrings would be prejudiced about the make or model of the gun they manage to pull the trigger. Lesson learned... Care needed: Guns...

    Before you draw - article

Excellent article! It stresses the common sense that most people who got a CC permit try to maintain. Avoid the drama in environment and personality and be prepared to take escalatory measures up to the use of a firearm. The firearm is not going to be a first-choice of defense very often...

    22 pump

Something to be proud to pull out of the safe at any time.

The demise of the .22 cal.

I enjoy my air guns and I can go through hundreds of rounds in a sitting, but I'm not ready to concede the demise of powder anything. To just add a couple of random thoughts: I am softening my views of a possible conspiracy theory spurring this ammo shortage into its umpteenth month. This is...

    What are you carrying today?

My son stopped in from going to the range this morning. He's carrying my old S&W 669 that's more than several years older than he is. He likes it because it handles everything he puts into it as a newbie loader. More than that, he just really likes that gun.
