    Yeah, the full size is made under contract by either walther or umarex and they use a cheaper metal for the slide. The compact is made by S&W and I haven't seen any issues with the slide.

    Most people recommend the gsg-1911. However, mine never ran reliably suppressed. My m&p compact.22 on the other hand runs like a champ and for that reason it get any vote. Plus it's made in the USA.
