I've owned 3 Aks and had issues 2 of them. I think one was mag related and the other was trigger reset issue, I think related to the saiga conversion. I still have the saiga but rarely shoot it, I've been meaning to replace the trigger and hopefully fix it. MAK90, no issues, maybe 1k rounds.

I've never had an issue. I'm not very good about cleaning them either. I don't run them especially hard but I've had a number of 5-800 round weekends without a failure.

The only place I never see 22 is the big box stores. They've went up to about 6/rd, still cheaper than most places, and I guess that's enough to keep the armies of illiterate neckbeards motivated.

Seems to me that you can buy all you want for 9-10 cents per round and find it fairly easily for 7-8.
