Proprietary carbine gas tube, so I guess you have to get carbine.
Why not get an adjustable gas block and a regular upper for half the cost?
Actually less than half, wasn't thinking about the gas block you'd be buying anyway.
The recoil is softer with the mid, rifle is softer still. I believe the extra back pressure from the can will cause the bolt to cycle faster. If it cycles without the can, it will definitely cycle with it. It's why many times people will use an extra heavy buffer when shooting suppressed, to...
I'd rather have a 16" than a welded 14.5", but whatever makes you happy. I'd also prefer mid length gas over carbine.
If you haven't got the barrel yet, get the gas port size before you purchase. You definitely want to avoid anything oversized if your going to shoot suppressed.
I've got...
I'm stacked pretty deep with SV and subs. My main bulk pack is fed Automatch which is a few fps slower than the standard 36gr stuff that I stopped buying years ago. I would bet it would be fine too.
How much did the cut and threading run?
Bad news is there's not much to choose from where I live. This is the only shop with decent(good, but not internet good) prices anywhere around. And they're the only option for reloading supplies, again decent prices.
I'm all for saving a buck but try to support the local shops when stuff is...
They are supposed to have devolved so bullets that reliably expand at subsonic speeds for 300aac. They are expensive, but I think they're out there now.
I think anything longer than 9" does nothing ballistics wise for 300 subs.
I believe 1/8 has become the normal twist rate, but some companies still offer different ones.
I like the look of the hand guard covering the end, but only if it's never fired unsuppressed.
What shop? I've made quite a few purchases at this one and this is my first BG check there, as far as I know.
There's a hardware store in Jackson that does them on everybody, but that's the old Fudd's policy that runs the place.
I'm curious if this is the only place that does this or been...
Made a purchase at the LGS today and found out something new, at least to me.
According to the owner, the ATF has mandated(or strongly suggested) they do background checks on people with weapon licenses unless they reside in the same county as the shop.
This is new to me and was put in place...
Absolutely true. A fragmenting super fast bullet doesn't have near the penetration a heavier, slower bullet does.
Speer gold dots in 55,64, and 75 have been on sell at PSA. I just picked some up, but I've been keeping m193 for home defense.
