    Optic for .22

Every rifles does. I did testing of everything I had a bricks worth of for my favorite 10-22, the results went from 1 1/4 moa to 6moa. That's one ragged hole versus 1 1/2" group at 25 yards. And the 6moa ammo was fed Automatch, something other rifles I had seemed to prefer.

    Optic for .22

A mil dot or a moa based scope with hash marks at even intervals will be much more useable than a bdc, unless the bdc is dead on which it won't be.

You want to borrow a rifle? I'll set you up with one that's a performer.

No reason to wait. Fundamentals don't change with the rifle.

    flintlock poll

I have a steel plate about 7"x10", that's close enough especially since we don't know the size of the actual shingles used.

    flintlock poll

He's one of our appleseeders in Macon. It would be nice to see someone hit the Daniel Morgan shot on the 200 yard range. I don't think a minie ball would be period though.

Anyone going to the Guns of August match?

I doubt the shooting starts at 8, no other match held there does. First prize is a Mosin and tin of ammo, second is a 8mm French lebel

    Low end AR brand poll

Of the cheap lowers I've built, DTI, LRB, Anderson, I'd put Anderson at the bottom in finish quality. All went together without an issue. Never handled a factory rifle from any of the three you listed.

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

What's wrong with matech? Easy come ups that are close enough for rock and roll, metal, and fairly cheap.

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

Magpul Mbus come in a bag, knock offs come in a box. Just free advice.

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

Either knockoffs or installed wrong, possibly both.

    Scopes, Which One and Why?

The PA one needs a battery for the illuminated reticle, but i never use it.

    Scopes, Which One and Why?

I have it. Seems to be well built, holds zero, clear glass. The reticle is excellent for ranging at unknown distances, but the bdc is a bit off in the loads I've tried. I'd agree with cmshoot about the choice. Have you thought about a red dot/magnifier?

I know nothing about them, but it is something I'd like to get into.
