    Feelin' a bit petty

Hopefully you're just reading it wrong. Sometimes I wonder if there comes a time when a person would rather not have it brought up anymore so I hesitate to say anything. Maybe they're walking on egg shells because they don't know "where you're at" with it all. Don't be afraid or embarrassed...

    SKS ammo

I've shot buckets of lacquered and poly coated ammo and I, my rifle, and my cleaning kit can't tell the difference.

    SKS ammo

not a bad deal though considering the included ammo can. i think gold tiger is lacquer coated instead of poly like the wmart stuff. I don't think it makes much difference but there does seem to be a small premium added for poly coated ammo vs lacquer.

    SKS ammo

1000rds of Tula polycoated steel 7.62x39 for $250 at Walmart is just a about as good of a deal as you'll find for that particular ammo at most online ammo places. Sometimes you'll see it for cheaper w/ shipping included online but usually only if you buy a very large amount. The Walmart price is...

    $20,000-$25,000 Assult Rifle

I think i read a few places are making 7.9mm Kurz again also. Now all I need is $30k so I can grab a StG 44. Saw a story a few months ago (probably saw it here) about a few crates of StG 44's found in a bunker in Turkey or someplace. Had been sitting there untouched since WW2.

    Winchester 94 help

I'd hate to have had to assemble it had I not also been the one to disassemble it. But it wasn't too bad. Thankfully all the screws and pins only fit in one place. It's nice to have a better understanding of the lever action mechanics now as well.

    Winchester 94 help

Well it's certainly not a trophy but I removed the cancer. The rear sight was a bear to remove but after I soaked it with CLP for an hour it moved alright (thanks for the vise blocks idea Skip). The Frontier cleaner worked pretty good. If you have a pretty bad rust spot and lean into it a...

    Winchester 94 help

I'm sure this is a dumb question but before I put it in a vise and whack on it you meant left to right as seen from the firing position correct?

    Held a Ruger 1911..

I usually steer clear but was killing time waiting for my watch repair guy nearby to finish up. I'm about to order a mid-length PSA AR so I asked a clerk to show me what mid AR's they had. of course his response was "you don't want a mid length carbine". apparently he thought I asked for his...

    Held a Ruger 1911..

I don't know if these are still hard to come by or not but if you can stomach the condescending attitude and likely a bit of a mark up (and live in or near Louisville, KY), Shooters Supply has a SR1911 on their shelf. $740.

    Winchester 94 help

I've been out if town a lot since just after Thanksgiving. But I set up a table in front of the basement TV last night and took it apart (all but the sights). I also ordered the Frontier thing Hoppy suggested but it's not here yet. I don't have a sight pusher and don't want to beat on it. I plan...

am I going to need to push that rear sight out to get at the rust under it or can I use a brass brush?
